It's a jam session, it's a dance party, it's a live show and it always features the hottest talent on the scene! Sittin' In is the free, monthly jam session at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Blending edgy horns, choice vinyl, cutting edge MC's and soaring vocalists, each session is unique, led by a stellar lineup of guest hosts and their band of choice.
This month's Sittin' In is hosted by Philadelphia-based guitarist, singer, songwriter, and teacher, Ben O'Neill. Performing live, O'Neill will give you a taste of his 12 video series, Songwriter Sessions: An Exploration of American Song. In this year-long journey of American Song, O'Neill has framed various musical influences into one cohesive picture, featuring inspiration from American composers who have inspired and informed his work, such as Bob Dylan, Duke Ellington, Tracy Chapman, and more!
