Join Us for Breast Cancer Alliance’s Flag Raising
On Monday, October 6 at 9:00 AM, Breast Cancer Alliance (BCA) will kick off their annual “GoForPink” campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the raising of BCA’s flag at Greenwich Town Hall.
Founded in Greenwich in 1996, BCA is a national charitable organization which has granted nearly $38 million toward the fight against breast cancer. Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo will raise the BCA flag to symbolize the beginning of the campaign and National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Through its grants, BCA helps fund Greenwich Hospital’s free mammogram program, providing breast cancer screening and early detection for under and uninsured populations. BCA also has supported several breast cancer research and breast surgical oncology grants at Greenwich Hospital’s partner institution, Yale New Haven.
Later in the month, on Thursday, October 23, BCA will host its 29th Annual Breast Cancer Alliance Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Hyatt Regency in Old Greenwich, the organization’s largest and most impactful event. This gathering raises the majority of BCA’s critical funding for breast cancer research, breast surgical oncology fellowships, and essential screening and diagnostics.
