Milhazes creates mural-like, abstract paintings through an innovative technique. She draws inspiration from Brazilian and European artists, such as Henri Matisse, Hilma af Klint, Piet Mondrian and Roberto Burle Marx, and image references include folklore, pop culture, decorative art, nature, and spirituality.
