Blood Drive at River Vale Farmer's Market
This July River Vale Farmer’s Market is hosting a “Make A Difference” month at the market. What better way to do that, than by hosting an on-site Blood Drive. To make donations particularly easy for our community, we have scheduled a Vitalant BloodMobile to be on-site at the market on July 25th, 2024, taking appointments from 1-5:30pm.
As a special and unique River Vale Farmer’s Market “thank-you” for our donors, many of our beloved market vendors are showing support by donating “goodies” to donors that day. When you donate, you’ll receive a punch card for a free PickleLicious pickle-on-a-stick, a slice of pizza from Angelo’s Finest Pizza, a discount on a small italian ice from Clyde’s Ice Cream and a Whoopie pie from Cousin’s Maine Lobster. All punch card items must be redeemed on 7/25/24. If you use the link below to register for your donation ahead of time, you’ll also receive a voucher for a free empanada from The Empanada Lady, which can be redeemed any time this market season!

Deciding if you are ready to “Make a Difference” with us? Donating blood just one time can help save 3 lives!
Not sure if you are eligible? We understand! Many regulations have changed over time, leading people to falsely believe that they are ineligible to donate. Here are some basics:
• You must be at least 16 years of age (16 & 17 parental consent form)
• You must be in good health and feel well
• You must weigh at least 110 pounds
• You can donate every 56 days
You can visit www.vitalant.org for more specific eligibility information. Also, you’ll go through a screening process at the beginning of the donation, and if it turns out that you are not a qualified donor at a given time, you’ll be notified discreetly. We really do appreciate people who attempt to donate just as those who successfully donate – having the intent to donate and just showing up is a big part of making this kind of a difference!
In addition, if you are looking for other ways to make an impact, there are a few openings for donors to give “Power Red” which is donating a double supply of Red Blood Cells while hooked up to a machine that returns your plasma and platelets back to you. You can find out more about that on the Vitalant website.
And, of course, Vitalant is always looking for organizations to host blood drives either at an indoor facility or via BloodMobile.
