Running for Water for Africa 5K
Uganda Farmers Inc will hold its annual fundraiser on October 4, starting at 9am at the Walnut Beach Pavilion. This event has a 5K run/walk plus an untimed 1-mile walk. There will also be a kids fun run. All registration must be done online. Both courses have water views. Snacks and water will be provided as well as a raffle. Uganda Farmers Inc. is a nonprofit organization that brings clean, running water to remote villages in Africa. We’ve brought water to thousands of people in remote villages in western Uganda through our fundraising efforts over the past many years. The proceeds of this year’s event are for a Kitagwenda secondary school with 2,000 girls and boys who have depended on a very dangerous stream to provide their water needs. The stream has claimed the lives of several students and locals as they stooped to fetch the dirty water. We can help by drilling a new well and constructing a water delivery system.
