DRESSED TO IMPRESS Amateur Boxing Dinner Show

Classic amateur boxing comes to Total Mortgage Arena for the first time! On September 20, we bring big-time amateur boxing to Bridgeport in an evening of classic boxing...just like that of a glamorous era gone by. In an elegant dinner show called “Dressed to Impress,” amateur boxers from across the East Coast will converge on the arena for an old-time boxing spectacle. On Saturday, September 20, 2025, a boxing ring will grace the center of the iconic arena for the Chick Rosnick Boxing Club’s fifth annual dinner show. Thousands of boxing enthusiasts, sports lovers, students, and family members of fighters are expected to attend, along with area mayors, police chiefs, school district superintendents and principals. “The Chick Rosnick Boxing Club has become a nationally recognized name in the boxing world. Our events are now drawing the most elite amateur competitors, and now that we will be at Total Mortgage Arena—a truly worldclass venue—we expect amateur boxers from up and down the East Coast, perhaps as far away as Florida,” said Harold Rosnick, president of the Chick Rosnick Boxing Club. “We’re always thrilled to see students from our club competing and showing their skills in the ring, and we are especially thrilled that this year that ring will be located in Total Mortgage Arena, our principal sponsor.” The Chick Rosnick Boxing Club, Inc., is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit in Stratford, CT., dedicated to guiding at-risk children in the area toward non-violent conflict solutions and instilling in them discipline, good character, and the skillset necessary to become responsible, productive members of society. The club welcomes a full spectrum of amateur boxers with varying experience, from novice to amateur competitor, and from those with physical and/or emotional challenges, all the way up to professional boxing hopefuls. One student, Joseph Chisholm, the son of Chick Rosnick gym manager and head coach, Martin Chisholm, went pro last summer. “We could not be prouder of Joseph. His career as a professional boxer is skyrocketing. With a record of 5-1, he is already making a huge name for himself,” Rosnick said. Proceeds from the event will support the mission of the club, as well as continue anti-bullying advocacy...advocacy that attracted the attention of the State. The Club’s efforts to guide youth toward nonviolent conflict solutions and curtail bullying led to its being recognized in a formal ceremony at the State Capitol. Last year, the State of Connecticut’s Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission, along with Senator Richard Blumenthal and Governor Ned Lamont, honored the Chick Rosnick Boxing Club with the Champion for Justice and Nonviolence Award and the Youth Vanguard Nonviolence Award. Lead coach and mentor Martin Chisholm is a well-known martial artist, tactical trainer, and youth worker. A former marine, Chisholm served the State of Connecticut as police department tactical self-defense coordinator. He developed the “Good Reaction” tactical program for the Stratford Police Department, taught martial arts for over 20 years, and ran a youth center for nearly 30. He also served as the Stratford SWAT team’s instructor for defensive tactics and counseled many children on conflict resolution and substance abuse. The Stratford-based nonprofit was created by father-and-son attorneys Harold Rosnick and Michael Rosnick in memory of their father and grandfather, Hyman “Chick” Rosnick, a lifelong boxing enthusiast, coach and educator whose retirement was declared “Chick Rosnick Day” in the City of Bridgeport and who was honored by the State Legislature for a lifetime of achievement. Both Rosnicks, of the Bridgeport-based law firm Miller, Rosnick, D’Amico, August & Butler, P.C., wanted to honor the lessons of good sportsmanship and good character that Chick instilled in thousands of kids in his lifetime. “We’re proud to hold this event in the City of Bridgeport, just blocks from our office,” Michael Rosnick, vice president of the Chick Rosnick Boxing Club, said. “We are especially excited to be at Total Mortgage Arena, the city’s largest and most prestigious venue.” “Total Mortgage Arena is thrilled to welcome Chick Rosnick Boxing Club’s Dressed to Impress Amateur Boxing Dinner Show for the first time,” said Joe Dolan, Regional Vice President, Total Mortgage Arena, and Senior Vice President, Business Operations, Bridgeport Islanders. “The mission of this charitable organization—to mentor local youth—is a noble one, and the event promises to be a wonderful evening for the whole family. We’ve had the opportunity to host major entertainment, sporting, and family events at our facility, and are excited to welcome our first amateur boxing event." General admission for the Dressed to Impress Amateur Boxing Dinner Show, with seating in the stands, is $35. Premier seats are $50. Tickets for VIP seating at ringside tables, which includes dinner, are $75. The cost for a ringside table of ten is $750.
