The event will also include a discussion on food insecurity in the U.S. led by Save the Children’s Special Advisor to the President, Mark K. Shriver.
Chef Eric, a passionate supporter of Save the Children, was a finalist and fan favorite on “Top Chef,” and is currently the host “Alex Vs America” on Food Network. Eric also appears as a judge on shows like “Chopped,” “Guy’s Grocery Games,” “Supermarket Stakeout,” and more. Later this year, Eric will appear with Selena Gomez on “Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays,” a four-part holiday special airing on Food Network starting November 30.
The first generation Ghanaian-American chef has also paired up with Penguin Workshop to write Sankofa: A Culinary Story of Resilience and Belonging, a children’s book that explores the culinary storylines of the African diaspora, peppered with a kid-friendly recipe and visuals, that was released on October 3.
Additionally, Bernie Park, founder of Save the Children’s Fairfield Leadership Council, will be honored for her dedication at the event.
Save the Children's Fairfield County Leadership Council was established in 2017, and the events they have hosted and the connections they've made have raised well over $2.5 million for Save the Children's work changing children's lives in the U.S. and around the world.
Funds raised from this event will support Save the Children’s U.S. Programs.
