Milford Open Mic - OUR FIRST SESSION at SBC!
Do come to the first Milford Open Mic acoustic session at SBC on Monday March 25th from 6 - 8:30 PM
Who's invited? You!
Young and old, seasoned or on your way. You are all welcome. If you simply like acoustic music and want to listen and have some great food and drink at SBC, you're welcome too. It's a place to be. The notion is to create a community of like-minded folks who enjoy presenting and listening to live music.
Bring your friends and family to hear you play.
Sign up begins at 5:45 PM, and is done in person.
Provided equipment includes...
- Sound system
- 2 house microphones (must use house mics for quick transitions, disinfecting wipes will be available ;)
- 2 Guitar/keys input (please bing your own guitar/keys)
It's an "acoustic open mic", so electric guitar/keyboard amps/drum sets and the like will not be allowed.
Please note that we love all music, but this is not karaoke. A 3.5 jack will be available to plug into for backing tracks for original music only.
Performing...
1. Performers will get the opportunity to play two songs, or for 10 minutes, which ever comes first.
2. Original music is encouraged
Listening and enjoying...
1. It's hard to get on stage for many people. In support for all artists who are giving us a special glimpse into their art form, we ask that there's no talking during performances. If a whisper needs to happen, no worries, but please give the artists you full attention. Unlike hearing a musician play in a restaurant, where they are the background ambiance to your evening, we've flipped it so that they are the focus.
2. Please share the love with SBC and say thank you to them for giving us a great space to meet by purchasing their great food and drink during the night.
Help us pack the place out on our maiden voyage of the Milford Open Mic. The demand for this type of artistic performance is felt by your attendance. A packed house can help us secure more open mic dates.
