Suzanne Sheridan Sings Joni Mitchell - A First Folk Sunday First
Westport, CT – Known for her impeccable covers of Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell, Suzanne Sheridan brings to First Folk Sunday a renewed commitment to the phenomenal singer-songwriter, Joni Mitchell. Joined by the always amazing Bob Cooper on keyboards and the sublime Cat Lines on violin (North County Band), Sheridan will be on acoustic guitar singing the signature songs of the great Joni Mitchell. On Sunday September 1, and only at First Folk Sunday, you will be able to revel in the iconic music of Joni Mitchell as performed by Suzanne Sheridan.
First Folk Sunday, the popular folk series, began its first season in 2023. The 2024 season, which began on July 7, has already had two sold-out shows at its new home venue, The Saugatuck Rowing club located at 521 Riverside Avenue in Westport, and the upcoming shows look to be as popular as the preceding ones.
A recent announcement hitched Meryl Streep to the upcoming Cameron Crowe-directed biopic of Joni Mitchell. Streep will be playing Mitchell in her later years. It is not yet known who will play Streep in her younger years. But before the movie comes out, Westport audiences will have a chance to hear Sheridan singing her favorite Joni Mitchell songs.
The music cover charge is $15 per ticket and can be purchased on the First Folk Sunday website at firstfolksunday.com. On the website, you will also be able to read about Cooper and Lines and see the remaining schedule for the 2024 season. Doors open at 12:00 noon and the music is from 12:30-2:30. A special First Folk Sunday menu will be available at all tables and the full bar will be open.
