Staged Reading by Fairfield Author
The Clan na Gael Players will present a staged reading of Yo Andrea, a screenplay by local writer and actor, Mike Boland. Yo Andrea tells the story of a modern-day Don Quixote, Tommy Hogan, an old small-town football hero. The romantic comedy looks at second chances, courage, and the risks we take for love. The reading will be presented on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Gaelic American Club, 74 Beach Road in Fairfield. There will be a special appearance by musical guests Jimmy Cyr and Colleen Filush of the Highland Rovers.
Yo Andrea is the recipient of many awards from the Miami Screenplay Awards, Chicago Screenplay Awards, Buffalo Dreams Film Festival, Woods Hole Film Festival, NY Long Island Film Festival, New York International Screenplay Awards, and Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival. Mike Boland is a lifelong Fairfield resident, actor, and writer. He has appeared on television and Broadway and in national tours, off-Broadway, and regional theater performances.
There will be a casual meet and greet following the reading. Admission is free, but tickets must be reserved by emailing Peg O’Leary at [email protected]. Open seating is available for walk-ins.
