Monroe Lions conduct Touchless Vision Screening for Children at Take Your Child to the Library Day
Starting at 9am, all ages can make a beautiful bird craft, while supplies last. At 10am, join Michele Urban Music for an all-ages concert celebrating Pete the Cat! From 11 to 1pm, Monroe and Newtown Lions Clubs’ volunteers partner with the Library to offer vision screening in the Library’s Children’s Room utilizing a Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener. All day there will be a special Scavenger Hunt, Guess-the-Candies contest, raffles, and community coloring project.
The Vision Screener provides fast data collection for easy evaluation of children aged 6 months through Grade 12. Results are captured in a fraction of a second. Both eyes are tested concurrently, and results are printed out noting if a referral is recommended. Camera is held approximately 3 feet from the subject with no touching required. Please note that this screening is not intended to replace a full eye examination by an authorized eye care professional.
