2024 Healthy Kids Day at the Darien YMCA
This free, annual event features a variety of family-friendly activities to encourage healthy kids, healthy families, and a healthy start to the summer season.
Sponsored nationally by Peanuts, Healthy Kids Day’s mission is to turn fun and play into lifelong memories. Some featured activities include Healthy Kids Day Dash, sponsored by Darien Running Company, story-time with the Darien Library, obstacle course bounce house, kindness cards and coloring stations, family yoga & meditation station, pool kayaking & duck races, airbrush tattoos, photos with Peanuts characters, and more.
“It is so important for kids to stay active over the summer, both physically and mentally,” said Jennifer Gardner, CEO. “At the Y, we believe in providing resources for families to create healthy habits, no matter the time of year. Healthy Kids Day is a fun, free community-wide event that encourages families to take advantage of all the great summer activities the Y and the Darien community has to offer.”
Locally, Healthy Kids Day is sponsored by Custom Aquatics, Nuvance Health GoHealth Urgent Care, Lil’ Dente Pediatric Dentistry, Darien Police Association, Darien Running Company, and Vavala’s Deli. Local community partners include AAA, Darien Library, Coalition of Families for Inclusion (COFFI), Hudson Valley Paws for a Cause, Noroton Fire, and Post 53.
