ARI of Connecticut, Inc. 17th Annual Walk for Independence
Over the past 17 years the Walk for Independence has raised nearly $500,000 to benefit the individuals receiving residential, day, employment, medical and other supports at ARI. Join us this year on April 30 to walk around beautiful Cove Island Park with most of the nearly 100 individuals that benefit from your support. This year we will be honoring Barbara Aronica-Buck & Peter Buck along with The Russo Family for their dedication to the Walk and ARI. Barbara Aronica-Buck and Peter Buck have been involved with the Walk as volunteers and committee members for all of the 17 years. Barbara has been a part of ARI for her entire life and Peter has been involved for nearly 2 decades. The Russo Family has supported the Walk for all of the 17 years and their family has volunteered at nearly all of the Walks assisting with set-up and overseeing the refreshments. We are excited to honor them this year.
We will begin at 10:00am with fun filled activities including clowns, a temporary tattoo tent, refreshments, music and much more. Opening ceremonies will begin at 11:00am, followed by a warm up exercise/dance led by Dance with El. The Walk will kick off at 11:15am. There is no registration fee; however, attendees donating $50 will receive an event T-shirt. Additional T-shirts this year will be available for a $25 donation.
