Fall Book Donation Day Sunday October 19
The Friends of the C.H. Booth Library announces its Fall Book Donation Day on Sunday October 19, 2025, from 12 noon to 2 pm—rain or shine—at the Blue Building, the Friends’ temporary donation site at 17 Old Farm Road in Newtown. The Friends has shifted its operations to this location and truncated donation hours because of HVAC work currently underway at the Booth Library.
Just like previous Donation Day events held at the Library, donors can drive up to the front of the Blue Building where volunteers will help unload their vehicles and provide tax receipts. To expedite your drop-off, please pack your items to be donated in bags or boxes you don’t need returned.
In addition to new and gently-used books, the Friends welcomes good-condition DVDs, CDs, LPS, video games, and complete jigsaw puzzles. Books of antiquarian interest are also appreciated. The Friends cannot accept multivolume encyclopedias, Time-Life Series and Reader’s Digest books, cassettes or VHS tapes, outdated reference books, text books, travel guides, magazines or free publications.
Your donated items enable the Friends to support the Booth Library through various sale events, including the group’s 50th Annual Book Sale to be held from July 10-14, 2026. The Friends-operated Little Book Store, located in the Library, is temporarily closed because of the HVAC work.
