The Talking Hearts Album Launch Party w/special guests The Empty Bottle Ramblers

The Talking Hearts (formerly The False Positives) are a high energy and cutting edge honky tonk country band from Boston. Channeling the spirit of musical icons Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, and Buck Owens, The Talking Hearts play witty and relatable original songs written by fiddler Rachel Rosenberg about folks who've done her wrong. The songs feature the thick three-part harmony singing of Rachel, Sophie Wellington (guitar), and Zach Meyer (mandolin), with bassist Dan Bui and drummer Mike Harmon laying down a solid rhythmic groove. Alex Formento will join us on pedal steel for this special show. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready for a rollicking good time! thetalkingheartsband.com The Empty Bottle Ramblers play traditional Cajun music from Southwest Louisiana. Tim Kness (accordion, vocals, fiddle) has longtime ties to this community as a dancer and musician; he's also begun making a name for himself forging Cajun triangles in the old style. Danny Birnbaum (upright bass), who likewise travels often to the Cajun parishes for visits and festivals, regularly lends his talents to old-time and country bands, as well. They first played together as EBR at the Augusta Heritage Center with Missy Roser (fiddle, vocals, accordion), who fell in love with Cajun music after a misspent youth of string quartets and orchestras. Erica Weiss (guitar, vocals), also steeped in Cajun music after years of learning from and playing with mentors from Louisiana--- and additionally well-known as an old-time musician, caller, and dance instructor—rounds out the rhythm section. Missy and Erica are also longtime members of legendary Cajun musician Jesse Lége's band, Bayou Brew, appearing on the main stage of Festivals Acadiens et Créoles in Lafayette and festivals all over the Northeast. *doors for the show open at 6pm*
