The program Dvorak, Brahams and Paths in American Choral Music was inspired by the recently-released book Dvorak’s Prophecy, by Joseph Horowitz. The program explores Dvorak’s prophecy that the United States could produce it’s own classical music tradition and how the impacts of slavery and racism influenced the modern black and white composers. Michael Barrett has served as music director since 2020.
