Will tell of Howard Blackburn a Gloucester fisherman. In January, 1883 Howard was on the schooner The Grace L Fears, heading out to the Grand Banks to fish for halibut. Howard departed Gloucester with all his fingers. He returned with none of them, and still considered himself lucky to be alive.
