Room to Grow Talks: Black Maternal Health Week
Room to Grow Talks: Black Maternal Health Week will feature a panel discussion that amplifies the voices, experiences and perspectives of participants and showcases stories of those working to improve Black maternal health outcomes in Boston. Hosted during Black Maternal Health Week, this talk will raise awareness and recognize the vast health inequities facing Black mothers and birthing people in the U.S.
Room to Grow is a nonprofit offering critical support to families raising babies born into low-income circumstances by providing parents with counseling and tips to track child development milestones, as well as essential baby items, and connections to community resources such as housing and medical referrals to help create a safe and stable environment. This holistic three-year program currently serves more than 400 families in the Greater Boston area, addressing the multitude of needs new families face by actively filling resource and support gaps in the communities we serve. We regularly look for opportunities to focus on issues and topics that are of concern to families enrolled in our program, including maternal health.
