Evaporate: International Live Art Festival, November 4 & 5, Metropolitan Waterworks Museum

An international art festival of live performances will be held on Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5 at the Waterworks Museum, 2450 Beacon Street, Boston, MA directly across from the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. Entitled Evaporate: Ephemeral Art from Bergen, Norway & Boston, USA, artists from both countries will explore their relationship to water with a variety of formats, including performance, sound, video and digital art. Artists will activate the museum’s exhibition halls, grounds, and the nearby reservoir on both days. Participating artists include: Nife Brzoza, Jan-Egil Finne, Anette Friedrich Johannessen, Kurt Johannessen, Nayara Leite, Mia Øquist, Pavana Reid, Bjørn Venø, artists from Performance Art Bergen in Bergen, Norway and Lani Asuncion, Margaret Bellafiore, Jimena Bermejo, Philip Fryer, Serena Gabriels, Forbes Graham, Jeff Huckleberry, Sandy Huckleberry, Sara June, Heather Kapplow, Max Lord, Marcel Marcel, Tom Mackie, El Putnam, Kledia Spiro, Joanna Tam, artists from Mobius in Boston. The International Performance Festival, Evaporate: Ephemeral Art from Bergen, Norway & Boston, USA is an outgrowth of the Waterworks Museum ongoing exhibition, Reservoir, What The Water Knows, a multifaceted art exhibit curated by Arlinda Shtuni. The festival will be held during the day on Saturday, from 10 am to 3 pm and in the evening from 7-9 pm. On Sunday, from 10 am to 3 pm and in the evening from 7-9 pm. All daytime events are free and open to the public. Anette Friedrich Johannessen, Bjørn Venø, Forbes Graham, Jan-Egil Finne, Jimena Bermejo, Joanna Tam, Kurt Johannessen, Kledia Spiro, Margaret Bellafiore, Mia Øquist, Nayara Leite, Pavana Reid, Sandy Huckleberry, and Serena Gabriels. Curated by Mobius member Forbes Graham, this evening’s program features three artists from Bergen, Norway: Anette Friedrich Johannessen, Bjørn Venø and Jan-Egil Finne; and solo performances by two Boston-based Mobius members Lani Asuncion and Marcel Marcel. All performances are water-themed. Sunday, November 5, Daytime Program (throughout museum opening hours; 10 am-3 pm; free) Staggered around the Waterworks Museum and its grounds often in overlapping ways, Anette Friedrich Johannessen, Bjørn Venø, El Putnam, Jeff Huckleberry, Jimena Bermejo, Heather Kapplow, Kurt Johannessen, Mia Øquist, and Nayara Leite will showcase individual works related to water and the site throughout the day.
