Grape Juice Book Bash & Wine Tasting with Eliza Dumais

Eliza Dumais is coming to Lovestruck Books for an evening of literature and libations. We’re celebrating the release of Grape Juice, a sharp, witty novella about desire, disillusionment, and unexpected renewal, set against the sun-soaked backdrop of a French vineyard. Author Eliza Dumais—editor, hedonist, and co-creator of SWURL wine magazine—will read from her book and discuss it with content creator and devoted reader Sierra Goodhue. The conversation will be paired with a curated tasting of wines inspired by the story. Come sip, savor, and get swept away in the world of Grape Juice. Your ticket includes a signed copy of the book! EVENT DETAILS: 6:30 PM: Doors Open, Welcome In! Find a seat, get ready to dive into the discussion. If you’ve purchased a ticket that includes the wine tasting experience, you’ll receive a tasting card upon arrival. Be sure to head to the bar before or after the 7-8PM discussion to collect your tasting. Our bartenders will serve three pre-selected wines, handpicked by our featured author, Eliza. Each pour will be marked on your card with a stamp. 7:00 PM: Grape Juice Discussion Eliza will guide us through Grape Juice while talking about the wines she chose and how they relate to her characters. We ask that you please stay seated for this portion of the event and wait to grab your tasting from the bar before or after the discussion. Through 9:00 PM To close out the night of bookish fun, shop the titles and merchandise on display at Lovestruck Books. 8:00 PM: Signatures and Snapping Pics Line up and get excited for a hello, book signing and photo opp with Eliza. If you haven’t grabbed your tasting yet, stop by the bar to do so. Tickets are limited, so grab yours soon! If the event sells out, you can join the waitlist. Should any spots open up, you’ll have 24 hours to register before we offer them to the next person. ACCESSIBILITY Check-in will take place at our front entrance on Brattle Street. If you have any accessibility needs, you're welcome to use our side entrance (located on the right side of the building), which is wheelchair accessible and has a ramp. Guests who would benefit from priority seating or any additional assistance are encouraged to reach out in advance — just email us at [email protected]. We're more than happy to make arrangements to ensure you feel comfortable and supported. We’re always learning and looking for ways to make our events more accessible. If you have suggestions or feedback, we’d love to hear from you! BOOK PICKUP POLICY If you purchased a book with your event ticket but can’t make it to the event—and don’t request a refund—we’ll happily hold your book for pickup for up to 30 days after the event date. We’ll be in touch via the email you provided at checkout to help coordinate pickup. After 30 days, if we haven’t heard from you or made other arrangements, we’ll consider the book abandoned property and may donate it or return it to inventory so it can find a new home. Thanks so much for your understanding and for supporting our events—we love doing this with you! ABOUT ELIZA DUMAIS Eliza Dumais is a writer and editor based in Brooklyn, New York, with a focus on wine, food, travel, and sex (hedonism, essentially). You can find her work in Vogue, Food & Wine, Cosmopolitan, and VICE, and she is the co-editor of independent wine magazine, SWURL. Grape Juice is her debut novella. ABOUT GRAPE JUICE Alice is bored—romantically, professionally, creatively. So when her boss, a prominent wine importer, suggests she work a grape harvest in France, she sees it as a welcome opportunity to course-correct her apathy. Though Alice is plenty skeptical of the drink-pray-love premise, she begins to let her guard down when she finds herself picking riesling and practicing her French alongside a charming cast of international characters—and, most notably, Henri, the vineyard owner’s nephew, who’s just as lost as she is. ABOUT THE CONVERSATION PARTNER Based in Boston, Sierra Goodhue is a content creator, devoted reader, and storyteller at heart. With a background in corporate fashion merchandising, she brings industry expertise to her Substack newsletter HodgePodge. Her work is marked by thoughtful curation and storytelling, inspiring readers to explore personal style while celebrating the power of fashion to transform everyday life. 831 Stories is a modern romantic fiction company for passionate readers.
