Know Your Neighbor Woburn FAM JAM

Know Your Neighbor Woburn, a new community building initiative, will host a FAM JAM community event on Sunday, 3/5 from 3:00-6:00pm at the James L. McKeown Boys and Girls Club, 1 Gardner Lane, Woburn. The event is family-friendly, FREE and EVERYONE is welcome! Light dinner, desserts and beverages will be served – and there will be a lively and fun-filled program of music, gym activities, games, and fun for all ages! Organized by a diverse group of Woburn community activists, Know Your Neighbor Woburn’s mission is simple – to grow beloved community by hosting friendly and welcoming events for Woburn neighbors to get to know each other across our multi-cultural communities. Know Your Neighbor Woburn is also pleased to welcome some new organizers to the team – community activists Mr. and Mrs. James and Verona Austin, members of the African American community, join Ms. Jenna Francis, Pastor Bill Hoch (Woburn United Methodist Church), Ms. Elissa Milto, Ms. Karen Manna, Ms. Margaret Valentine, Ms. Rubba Suhweil from the Islamic community, Ms. Vitalie Memeus from the Haitian community and Mr. Chris DiMeo, a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. Organizers are grateful to Boys & Girls Club Director Ms. Julie Gage, her amazing team, and the Club community for their involvement in this event. Community partners supporting this multi-cultural community building initiative include Woburn Welcomes, Social Capital, Inc., Rep. Richard Haggerty, J. Mulkerin Realty, Woburn United Methodist Church, and Mr. Joey James who has been creating all artwork and graphic design for this initiative. Organizers believe that these community dinners and events address an important need for community building and social activity as we emerge from the pandemic. They are striving to offer the Woburn community an opportunity to get to know their neighbors, make new friends, and celebrate the rich cultural and ethnic heritage of our community. Know Your Neighbor Woburn organizers are working on extensive publicity and outreach to all communities in the city. For more information about the event or if you know businesses, groups or individuals who would like to become a community partner or sponsor, please contact Chris DiMeo at 781-856-2256 or [email protected].
