ABOUT THE EXHIBITION Featuring over 30 new, original pieces, The British Are Coming playfully celebrates the best of London and Boston. Visitors can expect an immersive collection of mixed media and painted work that integrates Bowen’s characteristic style—bold street art showcased in urban centers across Europe—with new avenues of inspiration from across the South Shore. The exhibition blends Bowen’s signature style of heavy linework, neon and dynamic color palettes, and his trademark “demon heads” with iconography and imagery characteristic of the physical and cultural landscape of Boston and the South Shore. While inspired by this area of New England, visitors will encounter nods to Bowen’s homeland through British-centric pieces in the mix. Through it all, Bowen remains true to his artistic philosophy: “Whether it's painted on a city wall or hanging in a gallery, my goal has always been the same—to bring more color, imagination, and joy into the world.” ABOUT NATHAN BOWEN Artist Biography: A leading figure within the European street art scene for over a decade, Bowen experiments with color, sharp linework, and cartoon-like forms to create vibrant installations that reflect the global social climate. His work blends the ephemerality of street art with the craftsmanship and patience of contemporary fine art, creating pieces that are playful, expressive, and instantly recognizable. Bowen's figurative “demon heads” reflect his own authentic style while encouraging the viewer to interact with the various personas they embody, from the King to the Celtics to stylized pop icons like the Beatles. Based in South London, Bowen has amassed an international following of creatives that engage with his various works, including large-scale murals, gallery exhibitions, and collectibles. In 2012, Nathan starred on the BBC television show The Apprentice, where contestants were tasked with selling his artwork in a pop-up gallery as part of an urban art challenge. Over the years Nathan has spread his love for art worldwide, painting internationally, keeping his ideas fresh and edgy, and reminding people, “There is no limit to the imagination—just be creative and free.” Artist Statement: I am a guerrilla street artist, actively working as an art vigilante as I seek out dull, lifeless spaces around London to serve as canvases for my fast, dynamic, unpredictable art. I’ve also described myself as the “Artistic Gangster,” inspired by my lawless approach to street art. By openly using my imagination I transform old walls, creating new and inspiring works of art. My “demon head” characters invade building site hoardings all over London, turning the streets into my own gallery. ABOUT HOUSE OF ART House of Art opened in Hingham, MA in November of 2025 as a contemporary gallery dedicated to connecting artists and collectors through thoughtfully curated exhibitions, community programming, and accessible art experiences. Three exhibitions since the start of 2026 have featured paintings, screenprints, and photographs of wide ranging subject matters and styles by both global and local emerging and established artists, while visitors will always find a curated collection of sculptural works, prints, and other art-related treasures for sale. The gallery’s Owner and Head Curator Emma Richardson hails from London, bringing an international perspective to the South Shore.
