Quills to Quests: Novelists & Authors Open Writing Days at Hammond Castle Museum

Writings days are: * Wednesday, November 8 * Monday, November 13 * Tuesday, November 14 * Tuesday, November 21 * Wednesday, November 22 * Tuesday, November 28 * Wednesday, November 29 Join us for a one-of-a-kind opportunity during the "Quills to Quests: Novelists & Authors Open Writing Days" at Hammond Castle Museum, where you'll be transported to a world of inspiration and creativity. Whether you're working on a novel, crafting poetry, or simply seeking a serene space for your thoughts to flow, the castle will surely inspire you! In fact, the castle has served as a muse since our founder John Hays Hammond Jr, and his wife, Irene Fenton Hammond (nom de plume: Madame Renee Longquille) lived within these stone walls and penned their own works all those many years ago. We proudly continue that tradition and acknowledge National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) by offering you the perfect setting to fuel your own writing ambitions. Hammond Castle Museum offers a unique, fantastical, and enchanting setting that will help you find your voice and set it to paper. This November, unbind your inner novelist, inspire your passion, and be motivated to craft words that will leave a lasting mark. Reserve your spot, your muse awaits within these grand walls! Each reservation is only $30 and provides quiet access to many of the rooms within including the Great Hall from noon to 8 pm. Table, chairs, and extension cords will be provided for use in the Great Hall and Side Chapel. Writers are encouraged to explore the rest of the Museum but these rooms will not be formally set to accommodate writers. We encourage you to bring a small, foldable chair or small matt on which to sit if you will wish spend time writing in any of the other open rooms within. Please note: WiFi and access to electrical outlets are not available in many areas within the Museum. Please plan accordingly. Light snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase within the Museum Shop. Attendees are invited to bring a brown bag meal and store it in the Museum's refrigeration. Refrigerated foods must be clearly labeled with your name. No alcoholic beverages are permitted. *Writers may also be interested in our month-long writing workshop: Fate, Fortune, and the Femme Fatale: A NaNoWriMo Workshop offered in conjunction with CALXY Press and featuring CALXY managing editor, Beth Russell. That workshop offers the opportunity to incorporate the Quills to Quests Writer’s Days. Before booking your individual dates above, we encourage you to review the workshop as there is discounted access to these writing days through a workshop reservation. Additionally, participants may purchase a set of 35 Madame Longquille’s Astrological Inspiration Cards for $15. Hammond Castle Museum Members enjoy complimentary access to this program. All proceeds from this program support the ongoing restoration of the Hammond Castle Museum.
