In keeping with the Forbes family's 19th-century global connections, the Forbes House Museum presents a cultural evening where flavor and sound come together. Enjoy freshly served, honey-drizzled baklava while Baladi Beats brings the night to life with the rhythms of traditional Arab instruments. From soulful melodies to lively percussion, this event is a celebration of heritage, community, and the beauty of Arab tradition—meant to be savored, heard, and felt. Following the concert, the musicians will lead a conversation about the instruments and meaning of the music.
Baladi Beats is a musical group based in New England, bringing traditional music and instruments from the levant region. The group was created by two best friends who discovered a passion for music in their high school years. They specialize in Arab music, instruments, and wedding performances such as dabke and zaffe entrances. The mission is to continue the heritage and tradition of their ancestors as first-generation Americans. Teaching people culture and tradition through music is their passion!
This event is sponsored in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council through the Milton Cultural Council.
