Don’t Miss Boston Sea Rovers Sunday Kids Day, March 17, 2024!
Fun ocean related activities and programs during the day from 10am-2pm. Admission to these special Sunday Kids Day programs for children and their adults is FREE!* Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Ocean Related Fun for Kids includes:
10:30am-2pm Traveling Tidepool from the Seacoast Science Center: Get up close and personal!
Programs:
10-10:30am: The Joys of Nature: Working with Dangerous Animals
Learn about working with dangerous animals in captivity. How does one train a polar bear, sea otter or crocodile? Why? Learn about several different animals and meet some special live animal guests at the end!
10:45-11:15am: Atlantic White Shark Conservancy Sharktivities Event: Shark Myth Busting
Sharks-true or false? Learn some of what is really known about sharks and some of the stories that might not be true. Learn what scientists are learning about our local sharks. A great chance to ask your own questions about sharks.
11:30am-12pm: Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Wildlife Sanctuary: Horseshoe Crabs are Heroes!
Learn about the “living fossil” the horseshoe crab! Did you know horseshoe crabs are older than dinosaurs and can use their eyes to navigate at night? Meet live horseshoe crab hatchlings too! Children will take home coloring pages and adults will receive takeaway information about horseshoe conservation efforts!
12-12:30pm: Lunch Break
12:30-1pm: Kaila Krack: Stunt Diving for “Avatar: The Way of Water”
Kaila was recently a stunt diver in the recent James Cameron movie “Avatar: The Way of Water.” Hear about what it was like behind the scenes as she worked as the underwater double for the actress playing Tuk (the youngest child of Sully family) in this epic sci-fi blockbuster.
