Bending the Blues with Bees Deluxe at Boston City Winery and Album Sneak Preview
Bees Deluxe, the electrifying British/American blues band, takes center stage at the Boston City Winery Haymarket Lounge on Saturday, November 18th. The band will unveil new material from their upcoming CD “Hallucinate,” an all-original collaboration that showcases the band’s genre-bending musicality.
Led by British guitarist, Conrad Warre, the band has wowed audiences from Maine to Miami and played with blues legends including: Ronnie Earl, Joanna Show Taylor, Matt Schofield, Walter Trout and Dave Maxwell. Their music blurs the lines between blues, jazz, funk and psychedelia—paying homage to and improvising on tunes by artists like Albert Collins, Robert Cray, Freddie King and Billie Holiday. Their unique nod to tradition and fiery innovation makes Bees Deluxe stand apart from other less daring bands.
Blues Blast Magazine said "...what might happen if Freddie King took a lot of acid then wrote a song with Pat Metheny and asked a strung-out Stevie Ray Vaughan to take a solo," Bees Deluxe ensures an extraordinary musical journey that transcends traditional blues.
Joining Warre on stage are: Carol Band on keys and harp, Jim Gildea on bass and Paul Giovine on drums and percussion. Each musician brings their own identity and musical background to the amalgam that they call “acid blues.”
