Boston Punk Rock Trivia
BOSTON PUNK ROCK TRIVIA is happening Sunday, August 18th, 2024 at Arts at the Armory in Somerville, MA. With a goal of raising funds for the UN Fund for Humanitarian Relief in Occupied Palestine, BOSTON PUNK ROCK TRIVIA will be hosting an afternoon of trivia, music, prizes and more at Arts at the Armory in Somerville, MA on Sunday August 18th, 2024.
Offering a First Prize of $200 cash sponsored by the Blowing Smoke with Twisted Rico podcast, and a Second Prize of $100 cash, teams of 2-4 can register for $50. Individuals can register for $12.50 and be placed on a team the day of the event. Team or individual registration includes almost two hours of trivia, one free door prize ticket per person and the post-contest bands.
“The event is going to be super fun and hopefully raise some money for a very serious situation. The trivia is going to center around the Boston area punk and hardcore scenes from 1977 to the present. Even if you aren’t an expert, there will be ways to level the playing field and lots of chances to win, like best team name and some pretty sick door prizes. We encourage everyone to sign up, you definitely know more than you think, and it is going to be a blast” said Boston Punk Rock Trivia’s co-organizer, Rude McClanahan.
The event will be emceed by Boston scene legend Rev. Hank, and will feature performances by local punk bands Lobohombre, The Grubs and Already Dead. Sponsors include The Blowing Smoke with Twisted Rico podcast, Hardcore Legends Trading Cards, Elevate Rejuvenation Center, Dan Pond Law - Criminal Defense, and Marrow Deep Productions.
Doors for this event are at 12:30pm, with trivia starting promptly at 1pm. Doors for the bands are at 3pm with music starting at 3:30pm. Tickets for the show portion of the event only are $10. This is an all-ages event. The Center for Arts at the Armory is located at 191 Highland Avenue in Somerville. There is parking available behind the building and at 75 Belmont Street. Beer and wine are available for purchase at the event at the ROOTED Armory Cafe the day of the event.
