Writers of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essay, and other forms of written expression are invited to join a monthly roundtable of similarly inclined individuals. Attendees will share works in progress, engage in constructive critique with others, and improve their craft through thoughtful discussion. Writer Margo W. R. Steiner will lead the group.

Abbot Public Library Writers Group meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Marblehead Room at Abbot Public Library (with the exception of Oct.7).
Margo W. R. Steiner is a freelance writer, copy editor, and speechwriter. Before her retirement, she wrote speeches and op-eds for the president of Salem State University. Currently, she teaches obituary-writing classes in person and online. Previously, she led a weekly writing group, Everyone Has a Story, at the Marblehead Council on Aging. She has served as senior writer for Doctor of Dentistry and MDNews. Her freelance work has appeared in multiple publications.
For many years, she has served as chair of the Marblehead Festival of Arts Literary Festival. Prior to that, she was winner of the Marcia Doehner Award and the Award for Outstanding Work, both for poetry, in juried competition at the 2010 Marblehead Festival of Arts, and the winner of the Best in Show Award for fiction at the 2011 festival. She is currently a member of the Writers Group at the Salem Athenaeum.
