NEMPAC presents its next Artist Series concert this March with Duo Filipino performing Hey It’s O.K (Opera & Kundiman), a celebration of Filipino opera and western classical music.
Part of NEMPAC’s collaborative Artist Series, Lauren Florek, Carlo Bunyi, and Marcelline Merrill will present Hey It’s O.K (Opera & Kundiman), a concert blending traditional Filipino art songs with Western classical and musical theater works. Performed by Duo Filipino (Lauren and Carlo), the program features kundiman (Filipino art song), sarswela (Filipino opera), and beloved Western opera and musical theatre selections, creating a musical experience that bridges cultures.
Celebrating themes of love, resilience, and heritage, this concert invites audiences to discover the beauty and emotional depth of the Philippines’ classical repertoire while highlighting music’s power to connect across borders.
This event includes a wine, cheese, and dessert reception prior to the concert starting at 7 PM, complimentary with your ticket purchase.
