100th Anniversary of the Mountain City Fiddlers' Convention
In 1925, “Fiddlin’ Dud” Vance captured first prize—and a $20 gold piece—for his performance of “Twinkle Little Star” at the inaugural Mountain City Fiddlers’ Convention. Alongside the famed Bristol Sessions of 1927 and Johnson City Sessions of 1928–29, this historic gathering helped ignite the flame that became modern country music.

Nearly $14,500 in cash and prizes—including a 1925 $20 Gold Piece (valued over $3,000) for the Grand Champion Fiddler, and a custom Jason Barie fiddle for the First Runner-up!

Featuring The Kody Norris Show on Friday, Pete Denahy (Australia), and The Wyatt Ellis and his Bluegrass Band. Then on Saturday, enjoy The Tennessee Bluegrass Band and Larry Sparks with the Lonesome Ramblers.
