Steve Abee Fall Kiln Opening
Mark your calendars for the Fall Kiln Opening at Steve Abee Pottery on Saturday, October 18th, 2025 at 2349 Mystery Trail Lane, Lenoir, NC.
Preview begins at 9:00 am
Sale starts at 10:00 am
This firing will feature a wide selection of traditional Face Jugs, striking Swirl-ware, and hand-crafted Figurines, all rooted in the 19th-century Catawba Valley tradition.
We’re also excited to welcome potter Ed Lane, who will be offering his own creations during the event.
And there may be a very special surprise: if the kiln cooperates, we’ll be firing a few unfired pieces by legendary potter Charles Lisk—works that have been sitting on his shelves for over a decade, waiting for their turn in the flames. If they survive the firing, these rare pieces will be available, making this kiln opening one to remember.
Come early, walk through the pottery, and claim your favorites fresh from the groundhog kiln!
