"Smash Mile Bowl 1" Ravens vs Bears 11-21-21 at Soldier Field

November 15 2021 - The "Charm'tastic Mile of Baltimore (Love That 1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. The (NFL) National Football League is all about it's rivalries. It's crucial to the passion and excitement that makes it the number 1 of the 4 major sports leagues (MLB NBA NHL) in America.

This coming Sunday November 21 2021 will be an AFC vs NFC old school "Smash Mouth" showdown between the Baltimore Ravens & Chicago Bears. The weather forecast for the game will be partly-sunny with temps in the mid 40's. Great football weather outdoors in the Windy City 4-days before Thanksgiving (11-25-21). The Bears will play the Detroit Lions in the Motor City on Turkey Day 2021.

This intriguing matchup also features a unique backdrop. Chicago is home to one of the Most Famous/Iconic Streets in America (the 13-blocks of Michigan Avenue). The City of Baltimore is new to the city with a famed street the 1.3 mile corridor that's known as The "Charm'tastic Mile". It's an evolution of the Charm City nickname coined in 1975 by then Mayor William Donald Schaefer. The "Charm'tastic Mile" is located in the heart of downtown. It's America's Newest Most Famous Street.

The "Charm'tastic Mile" this past September 19 2021 was given a Governor's Citation by Gov. Larry Hogan honoring the 2nd Anniversary (9-19-19) of the unveiling of the 1st famed street sign for The "Charm'tastic Mile" entering the Inner Harbor.

This past August the Iconic 13-blocks of Michigan Avenue (name can't be mentioned) sent The "Charm'tastic Mile" a Cease and Desist letter to stop using their registered trademark name in press releases. The "Charm'tastic Mile" like the Iconic 13-blocks of Michigan Avenue is a registered trademark and the little war of "The Miles" was created.

The title of the game is being billed as "Smash Mile Bowl 1" Ravens vs Bears for the gridiron bragging rights for the Best NFL City with a famed Mile Street. The Ravens and Bears are known for their defenses. The '85 Bears and 2000 Ravens are considered two of the best defensive teams of all-time. Back in 1975 the then Baltimore Colts had the 3rd pick of the NFL Draft and Chicago had the 4th pick. The Colts selected OL Ken Huff from North Carolina and the Bears selected RB Walter Payton from Jackson State. Payton is one of the greatest players ever to play the game. When he retired in 1987 he was the NFL's all-time leading rusher (now Emmitt Smith). His statue along with the statue of Bears Icon George "Papa Bear" Halas are located outside of Soldier Field. Two weeks ago today 22-years ago on November 1 1999 the great Walter Payton passed away at the age of 45.

In that same draft a college teammate of Walter at Jackson State Robert Brazile was selected by the Houston Oilers with the 6th pick of the draft. Brazile was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame with Baltimore Ravens legend Ray Lewis and Chicago Bears legend Brian Urlacher. Lewis & Urlacher both personify "Smash Mouth" football. Robert Brazile wore the same #52 jersey as Ray Lewis.

Sidenote: The Baltimore Colts played their last game in Charm City on December 18 1983 vs the Houston Oilers a 20-10 win at old Memorial Stadium. Robert Brazile of the Oilers was the featured visiting team player on the historic last-game ticket. The last NFL game ever played at Memorial Stadium was on December 14 1997 when the Ravens faced the Tennessee Oilers a 21-19 win for Baltimore's last win of 1997.

Their last game of the '97 season was on the road vs the Bengals a 16-14 loss in Cincinnati. The first NFL game for the Ravens in 1998 played at their new and current home (M&T Bank Stadium) it was a preseason week 1 win vs the Bears 19-14 to open the new stadium in downtown Baltimore. M&T Bank Stadium is only minutes away from The "Charm'tastic Mile". Here's to a great "Smash Mile Bowl 1" this coming Sunday.
