During the past year, funds raised for Turning Points for Children, including from the Kids at Heart 2011 Benefit Gala, were essential in serving more than 2,700 families and over 5,300 children.
With the theme of "Pirates on the Delaware," this year's evening promises a "treasure chest� of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, extensive and fascinating auction items, fine dining, entertainment, and an honoree presentation.
Appropriately, this year's business-attire gala will be near water, at the Hyatt Regency at Penn's Landing, on its elegant mezzanine with scenic views of the Delaware River.
As previous event guests will agree, the evening is an excellent networking opportunity, and an occasion for many businesses - through their sponsorships - to enhance their brand awareness. Additionally, guests will be meet principals and social service workers for Turning Points for Children, as well as learn more about their work in a brief live and video presentation.
The evening's honoree will be E. Steven Collins, the host of Philly Speaks at Radio One, where he is also Director of Urban Marketing and External Relations. Mr. Collins is a strong civic voice on behalf of a variety of issues of interest to the urban community, including families.
