Lompoc Pops Orchestra
Celebrating 25 year of live performances, THE LOMPOC POPS ORCHESTRA returns to center stage highlighting magnificent selections from the Musical "Carousel" including "If I Loved You", June Is Busting Out All Over" and "You'll Never Walk Alone." Maestro Brian Alhadeff has also added to the evening's program, "Suite from Schindler's List for Violin and Orchestra" plus a terrific musical tribute to the great Bubble machine man himself, Lawrence Welk. He's also including the 1976 Pop hit "A 5th of Beethoven" alongside "More: The Theme from Mondo Cane."
THE POPS has grown over the decades and now attracts many of the very finest musicians from throughout California - some musicians make the trip from San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, the Los Angeles area and occasionally even the Bay communities. What was once an event mostly attended by Lompoc's clientele has evolved into a musical event for the entire Central Coast! Known for performing great popular music that has stood the test of time, the conductor is also always open to audience requests or a sparkling new piece. Folks looking for an enjoyable night out listening to favorites played by an exceptionally fine professional orchestra and all at an affordable price, are never disappointed. For icing on the cake, Dr. Alhadeff works hard to bring delightful, extremely talented vocal artistic performers to the program as well..
The venue is Lompoc's beautiful First United Methodist Church but it offers limited seating so attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Season tickets for all four concerts can be purchased at the door for only $85.00, whereas each concert separately is $25.00 for general admission. (Student tickets are only $5.00 with student I.D. shown at the door). Children 12 and under are always admitted free.
