Girl Power by Kelly Wonderly
“A street corner photo of a ballerina selling banana bread to pay for dance lessons was the beginning of the idea for my series “Girl Power.” I noticed that I was fortunate to know some girls and young women whose strengths, talents and interests might not be obvious from a photo or limited contact. I would like to see girls be encouraged to remember the interests they possessed before the world told them it was weird, not a real job or unattainable and keep those interests no matter what path in life they choose.”
