The Bakersfield Police Department will host it’s annual HalLAWeen trick or treat community event Thursday, October 30th , 2025, from 4-8:00 PM. All community members are invited to the downtown Bakersfield Police Department at 1601 Truxtun Avenue for this free, family-friendly event. Free parking for up to two hours will be provided at the 18th and Eye Street Parking Structure.
Participants will enter through the main lobby of the Police Department, follow a designated path throughout the building, then cross to the designated path through City Hall. Educational booths and food vendors will be located outside the buildings on Truxtun Avenue, including sponsor booths.
HalLAWeen Guidelines:
• All are encouraged to wear costumes including adults, but no masks will be permitted for adult participants.
• Candy is for the children in attendance only.
• Only clear handbags/utility bags will be permitted (no purses or backpacks).
• Parents are highly discouraged from bringing strollers or wagons; they are not allowed indoors, but there will be designated area to park them outdoors.
The front lobby of the Police Department will be open on October 30th from 7-11:00 A.M. and will close after that for event set-up. The lobby at the Police Department’s Westside Substation will be open from 8-3:00 P.M. on Thursday if assistance is needed that day. The downtown lobby will resume normal operating hours Friday, October 31st.
