In celebration of National Caviar Day, Uchi Austin is celebrating all things caviar July 12 through the 14th with both in-house and at-home menus that encourage a sense of adventure for caviar lovers. The selection will be expanded, adding the ability to enhance old favorites with small caviar options. In addition to the Trout Roe and Kaluga that are mainstays on the Uchi menu, they will offer Tobiko and Golden Osetra selections.
Caviar Day In House
Many of the dishes created for this special weekend menu are crafted to pair beautifully with caviar or roe, although it’s not necessary to order to fully enjoy the experience. The menu will act as a guide for guests, notating which caviars may pair best with which dishes. Prices will vary depending on dish and caviar/roe add on.
Some of the dishes guests can expect that are excellent to pair with caviar include:
* Kinmedai Crudo - goldeneye snapper, champagne grapes, champagne vinaigrette
* Grilled Scallop - leek puree, fried leeks, yuzu kosho butter
* Quail - House-made ranch, caramelized onion soubise, endive
Caviar Day “Choose Your Adventure” Omakase To Go
The caviar celebration From July 12th through July 14th will be a preset “Choose Your Own Adventure” nine-course To Go omakase dinner for two with a caviar addition for $250. Four mini jars of caviar will accompany a guided menu explaining the tasting notes and suggested pairing. A bottle of Charles le Bel Champagne can be added for only $50.
Pre orders for the special Caviar Day omakase will go live Thursday, July 11th and only a limited number of these packages will be available. This To Go offering is separate from the Sushi Boxes that can be found under the “Uchi at Home” or by accessing the menu tab on the uchiaustin.com website.
