On Aug. 27, the Trick Chat community speaker series will feature a discussion between some of the creative minds behind San Antonio’s hottest culinary destination, Pullman Market, diving into its historic inspiration, sustainable design and much more. Touted by Garden & Gun Magazine as “a food lover’s journey through Texas”, Pullman Market is a vibrant example of adaptive reuse and sensory-driven hospitality design, located in the historic Samuels Glass building. Blending original materials with modern elements, the space invites exploration through scent, light, and craftsmanship.
This talk will explore the collaboration between Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group Creative Director Rand Edgbert and Clayton Korte Partner Sam Manning, highlighting Emmer’s role in the evolving Historic Pearl District and Clayton Korte’s 20+ year legacy of thoughtful, sustainability-focused design that honors place, history and community. The discussion will be moderated by Austin-based design writer Lauren Jones, who has previously covered the Pullman Market project for Metropolis.
In addition to Pullman Market, Emmer is the powerhouse hospitality group behind beloved concepts such as Canje, Emmer & Rye, Hestia, Ezov and more. With deep Texas roots, Clayton Korte’s portfolio features work across the Historic Pearl, including Southerleigh and Mon Chou Chou, as well as Austin classics such as Eberly, Cosmic Saltillo and elements of Commodore Perry Estate. All are welcome to this free event with an RSVP!
