About Pat Byrne
Pat Byrne is an Irish-born, Austin-based singer-songwriter whose music melds two cultures known for introspective lyricism and raw, from-the-heart emotion. He first broke through by winning the inaugural season of The Voice of Ireland in 2012, which led to a deal with Universal — but it was his move to Austin in 2017 that shaped the artist he is today.
Immersed in the Texas music scene, Byrne has earned breakout performances at SXSW, the Kerrville Folk Festival, the 30A Festival, and the Americana Festival. Critics have taken note: the Austin American-Statesman compared the raspy, melodic soul of his voice to the late Austin troubadour Jimmy LaFave, while others place his gritty Americana storytelling in the company of artists like David Ramirez, Ryan Adams, and Jason Isbell. His voice moves from a seductive whisper one moment to a full-bodied rock 'n' roll growl the next.
