Austin: TLPC People's Hearing hosted by Representative Lulu Flores
Part of the Texas Legislative Progressive Caucus’ People’s Hearing series, the event is being held in response to the increasing politicization of Texas public universities. Examples of this trend include the UT Austin regents’ recent decision to prohibit the teaching of “controversial” subjects and
the consolidation of race, gender and sexuality departments at UT Austin and UTSA. Unlike last month’s interim hearings on higher education, the People’s Hearing will be open to the public and will encourage broad participation beyond university administrators.
