Austin Train Show

THE AUSTIN TRAN SHOW IS CELEBRATING 51 YEARS Railroad fans of all ages will converge on the Palmer Events Center at 900 Barton Springs Rd. in Austin for the annual Austin Train Show on August 24-25. We are excited to continue this 51-year model railroading tradition that began in 1973, when the event was called the Austin Model Railroad Jamboree. Visitors will enjoy over 25,000 square feet of operating model trains – including a railroad made entirely of Legos – and over a hundred vendor tables with items for everyone from the kids to serious model railroaders of all scales. The event will include a raffle of railroad-related items (including a complete, landscaped HO-scale model railroad), as well as activities for kids and a self-guided tour of several exceptional model railroads throughout the Austin area. The show is sponsored by the Austin Model Railway Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the enjoyment of model railroading as a creative hobby and educating the public about the importance of railroads to the development of the nation. Since evolving to a full-weekend format seven years ago, the show has set attendance records almost every year, attracting thousands of families and serious hobbyists alike. Hours are 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, and 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 25. Admission is $8 per person in advance or $10 at the door, with children 12 and under free. (Admission is good for both days.) More information and advance tickets are available at https://austintrainshow.org. Media inquiries can be made to Peter Kazmir, Chair, at 512-653-3824 or [email protected]
