Ghostwatch at Hyperreal Film Club
It's Friday, and that means... a family movie night! Hyperreal Film Club is showing Ghostwatch, a British ghost hunting mockumentary that first broadcast on BBC1 on Halloween night, 1992.
Because the broadcasters presented the show as a live news report, an estimated 1,000,000 phone calls were made to the BBC switchboard while Michael Parkinson and his fellow journalists investigated claims of a poltergeist haunting a family’s home. Because of the nationwide panic, Ghostwatch has never been repeated on UK television. See the show that drove viewers into a frenzy.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. A local short film plays at 7:30 p.m. followed by the feature presentation. See you at the movies!
