Interwoven Opening Reception
: Celebrating the latest exhibition, Interwoven, by artists Monica Mohnot and Erica Dincalci, join the Georgetown Art Center in the gallery's Opening Reception event! Featuring live music, charcuterie, and wine, guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists and discuss featured works throughout the gallery. This is a free event taking place during normal business hours and is open to all ages.
“Textiles serve as vessels of memory, identity, and transformation. In Interwoven: Stories in Thread, two artists explore fiber’s storytelling power through weaving, embroidery, and mixed media. One artist reconstructs personal histories of addiction and grief into vibrant, fragmented patterns, while the other layers textiles and paint to reflect migration, labor, and identity. Blending tradition with digital techniques, their works unravel and reassemble narratives, inviting viewers to engage with the tactile imprints of time, emotion, and human connection. Here, textiles do more than adorn—they speak, revealing the ever-shifting nature of self and memory.”
