Blues Artist Michael Milligan Headlines The Backstage at El Mercado South.
Start out 2025 at Durawa Tuesdays now in its 9th year of residency with the Legendary Ernie Durawa at the helm.
Texas Bluez musician, Michael Milligan, returns to headline The Backstage with special guest Steven Vague on sax and the Durawa Band. Milligan, with superb lead vocals and harmonica, is a native Texan with ties to Louisiana. His sound is described as “Texas Blues with Louisiana Attitude,” and “he delivers lyrics with meaning and passion.”
Michael is a long established musician whose career started in 1973 in Iowa, eventually moving to Colorado in 1976. A veteran musician with a unique harp style, he has displayed his talents all over Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington State, Oregon, California, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, South Dakota and Western Europe. Ultimately, he moved to Austin in 1992. Milligan began playing full time in Austin, and regionally all around Texas. He is a popular artist performing at Antone’s and the Driskill Hotel.
