SWEET POTATO PIG & WANNA PLAY: Film & Theatre Readings
Come celebrate Color Arc Productions' 9th Anniversary with live readings of one screenplay & one stage play. Color Arc will produce both works in Austin in 2025.
1. SWEET POTATO PIG. This 12-minute animated documentary short film tells 84-year old Vietnamese American grandmother Tien Hoang's immigrant story through the lens of her food memories using stop-motion and hand-drawn animation. Written by Tien Hoang & Christine Hoang. Directed by Christine Hoang.
2. WANNA PLAY. In this 60-minute one-act play, two online video gamers get zapped into a mysterious realm called The Here where they must play old-school analogue games to earn enough points to get back home. WANNA PLAY explores the awkward courtship of making new friends as an adult, but it does so in a world with no screens, computers, cell phones, apps, or technology. Written by Christine Hoang. Directed by Jamie Rogers. Performed by Zac Carr, Michelle Alexander, and Christine Hoang.
