Half Empty Half Full is a literary comedy show with a twist! It's a competition of wits between optimists and pessimists! Austin's sharpest stand-up comedians and writers share their creativity and battle out their positive and negative points of view. The show's host, comedian and poet Valerie Nies (McSweeney's, Rattle, and the comedy show Smile More), is joined by a panel of clever judges to choose who wins: the comedians and writers who see life half full or half empty!
Line up for 11/10 includes stand-up comedians Amy Botello and Jimmy Smoltich (Over the Lege) along with poet Camari Carter-Hawkins (author of Death By Comb from World Stage Press) and essayist Michelle Suzanne Mirsky (author of Here, Now from Northwestern University Press). Judges include the cynically hilarious: Stephanie Chiarello, Molly Savage, and Tyler Randle.
