Join us after work every Third Thursday for special extended Museum hours from 5 to 7 p.m.! Explore the exhibitions, enjoy happy hour food and drinks in The Star Cafe, and connect to Texas through unique interactive experiences. Different activities are offered each month. Museum garage parking is free after 5 p.m.
From 6 to 7:30 p.m. ride alongside the modern working cowboys on some of America’s largest and most remote cattle ranches. Witness the accounts of the cowboys themselves and discover the rewards and hardships of a celebrated but misunderstood way of life. Cowboys was filmed on 10 of the nation’s largest cattle ranches across eight states in the American West, including right here in Texas. Cowboys: A Documentary Portrait premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2019 and won the Audience Choice Award.
From 7:30 to 8 p.m., stay after the film for a Q&A panel with Directors and filmmakers Bud Force and John Langmore and Bullock Associate Curator James McReynolds.
Museum exhibition galleries will be open for exploration between 5 and 7 pm. The Cowboys: A Documentary Portrait program is included in the price of exhibition admission. Onsite exhibition admission ticket sales end at 6:50 p.m.
