Celebrate Women's History Month and learn about three brilliant African-American women who worked at NASA as computers in the 1960s: Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson. These women served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history — the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Their success not only helped the United State gain ground in the Space Race but also in the Civil Rights Movement.
The film screening will follow the Women's History Month Panel with NASA's Webb Space Telescope in the Texas Spirit Theater. This program is included with the price of Museum admission. Your admission ticket includes exhibition access until 7:00 p.m. and Third Thursday activities.
Seating for this event will begin at 5:15 p.m. before the Women's History Month Panel with NASA's Webb Space Telescope. Seating is first come first served and is not guaranteed with an RSVP.
