SPRING BREAK AT THE BULLOCK: TEEN MURAL CLASS

Learn the basics of mural painting from native Texas artist Fidencio Duran. For three days, a small group of teenagers will have the opportunity to work closely with Fidencio to conceptualize, sketch and paint a group mural inspired by Art of Texas State Parks. This class is for teenagers aged 16 and older. No artistic experience is required, just bring your love of nature and art making. Tickets are $6 for Bullock Museum Members and $12 for general admission. This ticket includes Museum admission. Online ticket sales will close on the morning of the event. Onsite ticket sales will be available at the Museum up to the time of the class if there is still capacity. The Spring Break at the Bullock class series is paired with Art of Texas State Parks, a special exhibition that celebrates the Texas State Park System's 100-year history. In celebration of its centennial, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has commissioned Texan artists to paint scenes from their parks. Thirty artists were tasked with exploring and painting 65 parks, natural areas, and historic sites in the state park system. The selection of 34 paintings on view are as varied as the parks themselves and offer a snapshot of Texas's ecosystems and history.
