Founded in 2022, Cover to Cover is an Austin-based wind quintet dedicated to creating accessible multimedia concerts for all ages. Musical storytelling, immersive visuals, and inventive reimaginations of classic works are cornerstones of the quintet’s programming. Each summer, Cover to Cover presents interactive programs for young listeners at KMFA 89.5’s Noon Tunes series. The quintet is an AISD Creative Learning Initiative Arts Partner and has collaborated with local artists, including Justice Phillips, Lawrie Bird, Tetractys New Music, and more. Cover to Cover regularly performs around Austin at venues including Radio/East, The Rosette, Dell Medical Center, Batch, and Community First! Village.
“Betty the Bat’s Singalong Adventure” is an interactive musical experience designed for young audiences and their families. Created and performed by the Cover to Cover Quintet, this lively concert invites children to join the fun from the very first note!
In the first half, kids and grown-ups alike sing along with new and classic songs inspired by Western folk tunes. The journey continues with Critter City, a whimsical choose-your-own-adventure shaped by audience participation. This one-of-a-kind production follows Betty the Bat and her animal friends through an original tale combining narration, live music, and visual art to celebrate local wildlife.
Kids can help guide the story and get movin’ while discovering classical music favorites reimagined for young ears. Perfect for curious minds, “Betty the Bat’s Singalong Adventure” fosters creativity, listening skills, and a love of live performance.
